JUNE 3rd
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 25, 26, 27 & Romans 15
📖 June 3rd. , 2025
Scripture Focus:
🔍 Scripture Observation:
Over 200 years after the time of King Solomon, we see King Hezekiah—one of Judah’s godliest kings—collecting more of Solomon’s proverbs and adding them to the wisdom already preserved. At a time when many kings were failing, Hezekiah honored God and deeply valued His Word. He wasn’t just restoring the temple—he was reviving truth, wisdom, and godly living for his generation.
Whether 200 years or 4,000 years have passed, God’s wisdom doesn’t expire. These proverbs still speak—because they come from the heart of God. They are not commandments, but they are powerful guidelines that lead to joy, peace, righteousness, and strong relationships when followed.
💡 Devotional Thought:
It’s hard to pick just one verse from three chapters of Proverbs—there’s wisdom in every line! But that’s the beauty of it: Proverbs is meant to be read often, meditated on, and lived out.
These are more than ancient sayings—they’re living truths, full of moral clarity and practical insight. As we read through them daily, we’re shaping our character. We’re learning how to walk wisely, treat people with kindness, avoid traps of foolishness, and live with integrity.
Verse 9 reminds us that the heartfelt counsel of a true friend is a treasure. It’s sweet—not bitter. It helps, heals, and honors God. Are we surrounding ourselves with godly friends who speak truth in love? Are we being that kind of friend?
✅ Application:
Let’s keep committing to read one chapter of Proverbs each day—not just to check a box, but to let God’s wisdom reshape our minds and actions.
Let’s ask ourselves:
Wisdom doesn’t just come by reading—it grows through surrender.
Lord, help me to take Your Word seriously. Help me to apply it in my relationships, my words, my attitude, and my decisions. I want to walk in a way that honors You.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, thank You for the treasure of Proverbs. Thank You for wise friends and timely correction. Help me not to be wise in my own eyes, but to seek out the counsel of the godly. Guard my heart from the pull of foolishness and pride. Help me to value humility, kindness, and truth.
Lord, teach me to live wisely—not just for my sake, but so I can be a light to my family, my friends, and everyone You’ve placed around me. Let Your Word take root deep in my heart. May I treasure it like perfume and incense—sweet and pleasing in Your sight.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
