May 21th , 2025 Todays Reading 1 Kings 7, 2 Chronicles 4
Crafted for His Glory
Devotional Series Entry -Date: May 21, 2025
Reading: 1 Kings 7, 2 Chronicles 4
Scripture Focus
"All these things that Huram made for King Solomon for the house of the Lord were of burnished bronze." — 2 Chronicles 4:16
"He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape... and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom." — 1 Kings 7:23, 26
Devotion
As I read through the incredible details of the temple—its bronze pillars, carved pomegranates, and massive basin shaped like a lily—I’m reminded that God doesn’t overlook the details. Everything in His house was intentional, skilled, and beautiful. Why? Because it was for Him.
That challenges me. My life is His temple now. Am I letting Him shape every part of me with that kind of care and holiness? Or do I give Him leftovers, cutting corners and skipping over the “small things” He values?
The temple wasn’t rushed—it was crafted. Not common, but consecrated. And now, by grace, God chooses to dwell in me. That truth should affect how I speak, think, love, and serve—because nothing in a life dedicated to God is ordinary.
Lesson for Me
• Do I treat my life as God's temple—with care, honor, and reverence?
• What areas of my life need to be 'crafted' more intentionally for God’s glory?
• Am I offering Him excellence in my worship, my service, my relationships—or just what’s easy?
Prayer
Lord, You are worthy of the very best I can offer. Forgive me for the times I’ve treated Your presence lightly or rushed through what should be holy. Shape me like You shaped every detail of that temple—with purpose, with beauty, and with Your Spirit. Let my life reflect Your worth. Let my thoughts be clean, my heart be devoted, and my actions be worship. Fill this temple—my heart—with holiness and passion for Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
