WHY READ YOUR BIBLE EVERY DAY
Why We Read the Bible Every Day”
A Devotion for Women of God
As women walking through the many roles and responsibilities God has given us—whether as mothers, daughters, wives, leaders, or servants—there’s one essential habit that will anchor us through it all: daily time in God’s Word.
Here’s why…
⸻
1. Meet with God
The Bible is more than a book—it’s a meeting place with the Living God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1
Every time we open our Bibles, we encounter the heart and voice of the Lord.
⸻
2. Relationships grow with time spent
The more time we spend in the Word, the more we know Him—not just about Him, but intimately.
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8
Love grows with presence. So does faith.
⸻
3. He is your source of strength
When we feel weak, weary, or worn, His Word breathes strength into our bones.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” – Psalm 28:7
⸻
4. He guides you in decisions
We need wisdom for life’s choices. His Word lights the path.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
⸻
5. Gives you confidence to face your day
Each morning comes with its challenges, but His promises give us courage.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
⸻
6. Your soul needs Him
Just as our bodies need food, our souls need the Bread of Life.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4
⸻
7. We don’t know what the future holds, but we trust the One who holds us
When we place our hearts in His hands daily, we are fortified for anything.
“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.” – Isaiah 26:3
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” – Proverbs 31:25
⸻
8. Bring Him glory—shine your light
When His Word fills our hearts, it flows out and blesses others.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
⸻
Sisters, don’t wait for a crisis to cling to God’s Word.
Open it daily. Let Him meet you, fill you, and mold you.
Your soul will be strengthened, your heart guided, and your life will shine with His glory.
Closing Prayer
Lord God,
I lift up every precious woman reading this devotion. I ask that You would enlighten the eyes of her heart—open her spiritual eyes to see how much she truly needs You every single day. Let her not settle for a moment without You. Birth in her a holy desperation, a longing that drives her into Your presence and into Your Word, where true life and peace are found.
Fill her, strengthen her, and sustain her by Your Spirit. Let Your Word be her daily bread—sweet to her soul and strong in her bones. Teach her to worship You in spirit and in truth, not out of routine, but out of deep love and awe for the great love You have poured out on her.
Father, may she adore You with her whole heart. May her life shine with Your glory as she draws near to You and walks in the power of Your Word. And may she be a light to others, leading them closer to You.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
