📖 Jeremiah 48–49, Psalm 67, 1 John 1
⸻
✨ Scripture Focus
•“But I will restore the fortunes of Moab in days to come.” — Jeremiah 48:47
•“But afterward I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites.” — Jeremiah 49:6
•“May God be merciful and bless us… May your ways be known throughout the earth, your saving power among people everywhere. May the nations praise you, O God.” — Psalm 67:1–3
⸻
🌿 Reflection
Sisters, when we read about Moab and Ammon, we see two nations that had every reason to know better. They were family—descendants of Lot, Abraham’s nephew. They knew of the one true God, yet they chose pride, idolatry, and hostility toward His people. They mocked Israel, they boasted against the Lord, and they trusted in their wealth and land instead of Him. And because of this, judgment came.
But God didn’t end it there. Twice, after announcing judgment, He adds, “I will restore…” That’s His mercy breaking through. Even for rebellious nations, He leaves a door open. Even in discipline, He whispers hope.
And this is what blesses me:
God’s plan has always been bigger than Israel, bigger than Moab or Ammon—it’s about the nations. It’s about people everywhere coming to know Him. Psalm 67 captures this heart so beautifully: “May your ways be known throughout the earth, your saving power among people everywhere.”
God blesses us not just for us, but so others might see Him through our lives. Just like Moab and Ammon were given the chance to turn, God is still reaching for people today.

💡 Lesson for Me
God’s judgment is real, but His mercy is greater. He always leaves a way back. My job is to make sure I’m not trusting in “fertile valleys” of my own—my resources, my strength, my comfort—but fully trusting in Him. And then, to let His blessing flow through me so others will see His saving power.

❓ Application Questions
1.Where do I see myself leaning on false securities instead of leaning on the Lord?
2.How can I live in such a way that others see God’s mercy and truth through me?
3.Who in my circle feels “too far gone”—and how can I start praying for their restoration in Christ?
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You that Your mercy always leaves a door open. Thank You for restoring me when I wandered, for drawing me near through Jesus. Help me not to hold Your blessings tightly but to share them so others may come to know You. Let my life point to Your saving power so that all nations, all families, and all people may join in the song of praise. Amen.
