Today’s Reading
Jeremiah 52; Revelation 1; Psalm 143, 144

Scripture Focus
“This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants the events that must soon take place. He sent an angel to present this revelation to his servant John, who faithfully reported everything he saw. This is his report of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near.”
— Revelation 1:1–3 NLT

Reflection
Jeremiah 52 may feel like a recap, but it’s here to remind us that every word God spoke through Jeremiah came true. His warnings were real, His judgment was certain, and yet—even in devastation—He left a glimpse of hope by keeping David’s line alive, preserving the promise of the Messiah.

That same God now speaks to us through Revelation. Just as Jeremiah’s prophecies came from Him and were fulfilled, so will the words of Revelation. Some have already come to pass, and the rest surely will—because our God is faithful, and His Word never fails.

In Jeremiah we kept hearing the same call: “Obey my voice.” But the people refused, and it led to judgment. Now here in Revelation, God gives us the same heart call, but this time with a promise: blessing for the one who reads, listens, and obeys. Isn’t that powerful? God’s word always proves true—whether in Jeremiah’s day or in the days to come.

But reading just to “get through words on a page” is not what God intended. In the Greek, “read” means to grasp with understanding, “listen” means to take it into the heart, and “obey” means to treasure it by living it out.
If we only read God’s Word hit-and-miss, we miss His daily direction and strength for our lives. It’s in the steady, everyday reading, listening, and obeying that our faith grows strong and our hearts stay aligned with Him.

And for the woman who does read faithfully every day, but still feels overwhelmed by trials—don’t lose heart. Reading, listening, and obeying doesn’t mean the trials disappear; it means you’re being strengthened in them. Even when you feel weak, God’s Word is anchoring you, and His Spirit is carrying you. The fruit may not show up all at once, but His Word is working deep roots of strength and trust in your life.

The psalms remind us of this too: “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing” (Psalm 143:10). And “He trains my hands for battle; He strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow” (Psalm 144:1). Reading, listening, and obeying is how God equips us with strength for life’s battles and keeps us walking in His will.

Lesson for Me
God’s Word is not optional—it’s life-giving. To neglect it is to starve myself spiritually. To read it, listen to it, and obey it daily is to walk in blessing, strength, and alignment with His will.

Application Questions
  • Am I reading God’s Word daily, or just here and there?
  • How can I be more intentional to read, listen, and obey with my whole heart?
  • What is one practical step I can take today to guard God’s Word as a treasure in my life?

Prayer 🙏
Lord, thank You that Your Word is faithful and true. Help me not to treat it lightly or casually, but to read with understanding, to listen with my heart, and to obey with joy. Strengthen me through Your Word every day, and let me live out the blessing You’ve promised to those who treasure it. Like the psalmist, teach me to do Your will and train my hands for battle. Keep me walking in step with Your Spirit, rooted in Your truth. Amen.
