Today’s Reading
Ezekiel 8–11; Revelation 4

Scripture Focus – Ezekiel

“He reached out what seemed to be a hand and took me by the hair. Then the Spirit lifted me up into the sky and transported me to Jerusalem in a vision from God. I was taken to the north gate of the inner courtyard of the Temple, where there is a large idol that has made the Lord very jealous. Suddenly, the glory of the God of Israel was there, just as I had seen it before in the valley.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭8‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Then the glory of the God of Israel rose up from between the cherubim, where it had rested, and moved to the entrance of the Temple. And the Lord called to the man dressed in linen who was carrying the writer’s case. He said to him, ‘Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable sins being committed in their city.’”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭9‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Then the glory of the Lord rose up from above the cherubim and went over to the entrance of the Temple. The Temple was filled with this cloud of glory, and the courtyard glowed brightly with the glory of the Lord.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭11‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection – Ezekiel
In these chapters, the Spirit carries Ezekiel in a vision back to Jerusalem. God reveals His glory and then uncovers the hidden sins of His people—the idols, the wicked leaders, the false sense of security. Nothing is hidden from His eyes; He sees into every dark corner and even knows every thought.
Yet in the midst of judgment, there is a beautiful promise. Those who wept over sin were sealed and protected. Just as the man in linen marked them, we too have been sealed—redeemed by the blood of Jesus and marked with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).
The glory of God that Ezekiel saw move from the temple reminds us of God’s holiness. His Spirit will not dwell among sin. But He also promises transformation: a new heart, a new spirit, a tender responsiveness to Him. This is the hope of the gospel—what sin hardens, God softens; what is stubborn, He makes obedient.

Lesson to Learn – Ezekiel
God calls me to grieve over sin—both in the world and in my own life. He has sealed me for Himself, but He also desires to give me a heart that responds quickly to His Word and His Spirit. If my heart feels stubborn, I can ask Him to replace it with a tender one.

Scripture Focus – Revelation 4
“And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.’”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection – Revelation 4
John’s vision pulls us into heaven’s throne room. In Ezekiel’s vision, leaders mocked God and gave wicked counsel; in John’s vision, elders bowed low, casting their crowns before the throne. Ezekiel saw rebellion; John saw worship. The contrast is striking—one group hardened their hearts, the other surrendered their crowns.
We too have seen the glory of God. If we belong to Jesus, we were sealed with His Spirit, our hearts softened, our lives transformed. Every word God speaks—whether convicting, correcting, or encouraging—calls us to a life of responsive worship. Heaven’s song reminds us that worship is not occasional, but constant. Our lives are meant to declare: He is holy. He is worthy. He is Lord.

Lesson to Learn – Revelation 4
My life should mirror heaven’s posture of worship. I am called not to wear my crown proudly but to lay it at His feet daily. Every response to His Word—whether conviction or comfort—should flow into worship, because He alone is worthy.

Application Questions
  • Am I sensitive to sin, or have I grown numb?

  • Do I respond to God’s correction with worship and surrender, or with resistance and pride?

  • Am I living with a crown-on-my-head mindset (self-rule) or a crown-at-His-feet mindset (surrendered worship)?

  • How can I live out worship in my daily choices this week?

A Note to My Sisters
Ladies, my friends, I know how much I need to be in God’s Word every day. Reading, meditating, and holding on to His promises keeps my soul at peace. Who He is demands a response from us—He is holy, He is Creator, He is our Lord.
Just yesterday I received difficult news, but because “I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11), I wasn’t shaken. Instead of leaning on my own understanding, I ran to Him first. I set my eyes on Him to see what He would do, and I worshiped Him by trusting Him. That’s what His Word does—it steadies us whether the news is good or bad. (Did my flesh want to freak out? Did my mind want to run to worry, get anxious, and nervous? Of course it did. I live in my own worst enemy, and the devil was right there shooting fiery darts at me: “This is terrible! What are you going to do? Freak out!” That’s why I ran to the Lord immediately and began proclaiming what I know: “Lord, I trust You. You work all things out for good. No weapon formed against me will prosper. You are the Sovereign Lord; You are in control. You call me to trust You—so I worship You.”)

This is what the world should see in us: women who trust in the living God, women who respond to His Word with worship, no matter the circumstance.

Prayer 🙏
Lord, You are holy, holy, holy. You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. You see every corner of my heart, and still You have sealed me with Your Spirit and given me a tender heart that responds to You. Thank You for marking me as Your own, for softening what was once stubborn, and for transforming me by Your Spirit.
Forgive me when I resist Your correction or try to carry my crown in pride. Teach me to grieve over sin as You do, and to lay my crown at Your feet in continual worship. When trials come and fiery darts fly, help me run to You first, proclaiming truth and standing firm in Your promises. May my life echo heaven’s song—declaring with every word and action that You alone are God, holy and worthy forever. Amen.
