Reflection
Hebrews tells us who Jesus truly is so that we will learn to come to Him with confidence. The author wastes no time: Jesus is God. He radiates the Father’s glory, created the world, sustains everything by His power, and has cleansed us from our sins (Hebrews 1:3).
But Hebrews doesn’t just show us His greatness—
it shows us why He came.
He became flesh and blood so He could destroy the power of death, free us from fear, make us holy, and bring many sons and daughters into glory (Hebrews 2:10–15). We are His family now. His brothers and sisters. His children.
And because we are His, we have an inheritance—every spiritual treasure Christ died to give us. But if we don’t stand firm, courageous, and bold in faith, we live like beggars while our Father’s house is full of riches. That is not God’s heart. He bought us with His own blood so we would walk confidently in what He has provided.
This is why Hebrews commands:
“Keep your courage. Remain confident in your hope.” (Hebrews 3:6)
“Encourage each other daily so you won’t be hardened by sin.” (Hebrews 3:13)
“Mix the Word with faith.” (Hebrews 4:2)
And then comes the invitation—one of the most intimate in all Scripture:
“Let us come boldly to the throne of grace…”
(Hebrews 4:16)
Boldly does not mean arrogantly.
It means we don’t come ashamed, feeling like we don’t belong, or acting as though we’re bothering God.
It means we don’t approach Him like someone too afraid to ask for help.
We come as children—confessing honestly, but also trusting fully.
Why?
Because our High Priest understands our weaknesses, fought our battles, faced our temptations, and stands ready to give mercy and grace in every moment of need.
To know Jesus more is to meditate on these truths until they shape our thinking, strengthen our faith, and anchor our hearts. The more we understand who He is and what He has done, the more confidently we will come—and the more firmly we will stand.
⸻
Lesson for Me
To grow as a woman who knows her God, I must meditate on the truth of who Jesus is and what He has accomplished. Confidence comes from understanding my identity as His child and believing the inheritance He secured for me. Bold faith is not based on how strong I feel, but on how faithful He is. If I do not stand firm, I will live below the fullness Jesus purchased for me with His own blood. But if I trust Him boldly, I will walk in the treasures of grace He has already placed in my hands.

Application Questions
1.What truth about Jesus from Hebrews 1–4 strengthens my faith the most today?
2.Where have I been approaching God timidly instead of boldly?
3.What part of my inheritance in Christ am I not fully walking in?
4.Do I mix the Word with faith—or do I allow doubt to choke what God is speaking?
5.Have I allowed discouragement or fear to make me live like a beggar instead of a daughter?
6.What daily step of courage can I take to “remain confident in my hope”?
7.Who can I encourage today so their heart is not hardened by sin?
8.How does remembering that Jesus understands my weaknesses change the way I pray?
⸻
Prayer 🙏
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are God—radiant in glory, full of power, full of mercy. Thank You for becoming flesh, destroying the power of death, freeing me from fear, and making me Your child. Help me walk boldly in the inheritance You purchased with Your blood. Strengthen my faith so I do not live like a beggar, but as a daughter who knows her Father’s love. Anchor my heart in truth, keep me courageous, and teach me to come confidently to Your throne of grace every day. Amen.

Journaling Reminder
Sit quietly with Jesus. Ask Him:
“Lord, what truth in Hebrews do You want me to hold onto today? What boldness do You want to strengthen in me?”
Write what He speaks—any corrections, encouragements, or steps of faith He puts on your heart.
