Today’s Reading
Leviticus 26–27
Acts 23
⸻
Scripture Focus
“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains…”
— Leviticus 26:3–4 (NLT)
“All these tithes are holy and belong to the Lord.”
— Leviticus 27:30 (NLT)
Dear Sister Friend,
Leviticus 26 thunders with covenant language. God says over and over, “I will…”
If you obey — I will bless.
If you reject — I will discipline.
His promises are not random. His discipline is not emotional. His “I will” flows from covenant love.
Then chapter 27 closes the entire book in a surprising way. After warnings, after blessings, after holiness laws — God speaks about vows, dedication, and things that are “holy to the Lord.”
Why end here?
Because after all the instructions, God brings it back to ownership.
Everything belongs to Him.
The land.
The increase.
The tithe.
The vow.
Even the life that is dedicated.
Leviticus does not end with fear.
It ends with devotion.
It’s as if the Lord says:
“I have told you who I am.
I have shown you the blessings of obedience.
I have warned you about rejection.
Now — what will you freely give Me?”
Chapter 27 reminds me that obedience is required — but devotion is chosen.
God does not force consecration.
He invites it.
And true devotion costs something. When something was dedicated, it had value attached. It mattered. It was measurable. It wasn’t emotional excitement. It was intentional surrender.
Leviticus ends not with ritual — but with relationship.
Not with punishment — but with belonging.
⸻
Lesson for Me
God’s covenant includes both blessing and discipline — but it ends with invitation.
My life is not mine.
Everything I have is already His.
Devotion is not about what I feel — it’s about what I truly surrender.
⸻
Examine My Heart
• Is my obedience conditional, or wholehearted?
• Do I treat my commitments to God seriously?
• Have I dedicated areas of my life emotionally — but not practically?
• What do I still act like I “own” instead of steward?
⸻
Prayer 🙏
Lord, You are the God who says “I will.”
You are faithful in blessing and faithful in correction.
Forgive me when I resist Your authority or treat holy things lightly.
Everything I have belongs to You — my time, my resources, my body, my calling.
Teach me true devotion.
Not emotional promises, but surrendered obedience.
Let my life be fully consecrated to You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
⸻
Journaling Reminder
Sit quietly before the Lord. Listen for the Holy Spirit. Begin writing until your thoughts pause. Then reread what you wrote. You may begin with:
“My little lamb…”
or
“Dear daughter…”
Write what He is asking you to surrender, strengthen, or trust more deeply today.
