Reflection

My dear Sister Soldiers,

Wow… what a year.

I remember my first year walking with Jesus—getting to know who God was, the excitement of His Word, watching His power move in my life. He set my feet on solid ground, and suddenly I wasn’t wandering anymore. He was guiding my every step.

As we enter the book of Numbers, we step into a wilderness season with Israel. The Book of Numbers records their journey from Mount Sinai to the edge of the Promised Land. Its Hebrew name, Bemidbar, means “In the Wilderness.” That name feels more accurate than “Numbers,” because this is not just a counting book—it is a training book. It is the story of a redeemed people learning how to walk with a holy God in unfamiliar territory.

The census and camp arrangement in chapters 1 and 2 reveal something beautiful:

Every tribe had a place.
Every family had an assignment.
Every banner had direction.
And the Tabernacle was in the center.

God was not random. He was intentional.

The Levites stood guard around the Tabernacle. Holiness was protected. God’s presence was not treated casually. And the people obeyed exactly as the Lord commanded.

This wilderness was not wasted. It was structured. It was ordered. It was purposeful.

Numbers shows us:
• God’s Order – He assigns places and positions intentionally.
• God’s Presence – He dwells in the center of His people.
• God’s Holiness – His presence must be guarded with reverence.
• Human Weakness – Fear and complaining delay promise.
• God’s Faithfulness – Even when they falter, He remains steady.

Freedom from Egypt was only the beginning. The real journey was learning obedience, trust, and dependence while walking toward promise.

Lesson to Learn

For us, Numbers reminds us:

God is still a God of order.
He still dwells among His people.
And wilderness seasons are not wasted—they are training grounds for trust.

What Can I Learn?

God has chosen me.
He has placed me.
He has given me position and purpose.

His banner over me is love.

But just like the Levites guarded the Tabernacle, I must guard what He has placed at the center of my life.

I must:
• Keep Him at the center of my home.
• Keep Him at the center of my decisions.
• Protect my time with Him.
• Protect my heart from drift.
• Protect holiness in my life.

The wilderness is not chaos when God is in the middle.
It becomes formation.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for placing me exactly where I am. You are not random with my life. You have assigned my position, my family, my season. Help me keep You in the center. Teach me to guard Your presence in my heart. If I am in a wilderness season, train me there. Form my trust. Strengthen my obedience. Align my steps under Your banner of love.

Journal Reminder

Sit quietly with Jesus. Ask Him:
“Are You truly at the center of my camp?”

Listen for the Holy Spirit. Begin writing until your thoughts pause. Reread what you wrote. And begin your journaling time with:

“My little lamb…” or
“Dear daughter…”
