Today’s Reading
Leviticus 1–3 -Acts 13

Introduction to Leviticus
Leviticus is God teaching His redeemed people how to live near Him.
After rescuing Israel from Egypt and dwelling among them in the tabernacle, the Lord now instructs them on holiness, worship, obedience, and relationship. Leviticus shows us that a holy God lovingly provides a way for sinful people to draw near—through sacrifice, obedience, and ultimately through Jesus, our perfect sacrifice. What begins with offerings will later shape hearts, habits, and lives fully set apart for God.

Scripture Focus
– Leviticus 1 (The Burnt Offering)
Leviticus 1:9 (NLT)

“The priest will then burn the entire sacrifice on the altar as a burnt offering. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.”

Reflection
The burnt offering was completely consumed—nothing held back. This offering symbolized total surrender. God was not interested in partial devotion. He desired hearts that belonged fully to Him. The aroma pleased the Lord not because of the animal itself, but because it represented obedience, humility, and complete yielding.

Lesson for Me
God calls me not to selective obedience, but to a life fully surrendered to Him.
Application
  • Offer God my whole life, not leftovers
  • Surrender areas I tend to control
  • Remember Jesus gave Himself fully for me

Examining My Heart
Is there any area of my life I have not fully placed on God’s altar?

What Does It Look Like to Place Something on the Altar?
To place something on the altar means to surrender it fully to God, trusting Him with the outcome and choosing obedience over control.

Relationships
  • Relationships that pull me away from God
  • Romantic relationships that compromise purity
  • Friendships built on gossip, bitterness, or worldliness
  • Family dynamics where I try to control instead of trust God

Habits & Behaviors
  • Patterns of sin I’ve tolerated
  • Words that tear down instead of give life
  • Media choices that dull my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
  • Anger, bitterness, or unforgiveness I keep justifying

Thought Life & Heart Attitudes
  • Fear of man and desire for approval
  • Pride in being “right” instead of being Christlike
  • Comparison and insecurity
  • Complaining, entitlement, or discontentment
Time & Priorities
  • Busyness that crowds out time with God
  • Overcommitment that leaves no space for rest or obedience
  • Placing productivity above presence with the Lord

Control & Trust Issues
  • The need to fix, manage, or rescue situations
  • Anxiety over finances, health, or the future
  • Refusing to release outcomes to God

Comfort & Convenience
  • Choosing ease over obedience
  • Avoiding hard conversations God is prompting
  • Staying silent when God calls me to speak truth in love

Gifts, Callings & Identity
  • Using my gifts for recognition instead of God’s glory
  • Hiding gifts out of fear or insecurity
  • Defining myself by roles, success, or failure instead of who I am in Christ

Scripture Focus – Leviticus 2 (The Grain Offering)
Leviticus 2:1 (NLT)

“When you present grain as an offering to the Lord, the offering must consist of choice flour.”

Reflection
The grain offering was a gift of daily provision—the work of human hands. God asked for the best, not what was left over. This offering teaches that worship isn’t only sacrifice in suffering, but honor in everyday life—our work, our effort, our consistency.

Lesson for Me
God deserves my best, even in ordinary obedience.

Application
  • Honor God in daily routines
  • Give Him excellence, not convenience
  • Serve Him faithfully in unseen places

Examining My Heart
Do I give God my best—or what costs me the least?

Scripture Focus – Leviticus 3 (The Peace Offering)
Leviticus 3:16 (NLT)

“All of it must be offered to the Lord. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation.”

Reflection
The peace offering was about fellowship and communion. It symbolized restored relationship—peace with God. This offering reminds us that God does not merely forgive; He invites us into closeness. Through Christ, we now live in lasting peace with God.

Lesson for Me
God desires not just my obedience, but my fellowship.

Application
  • Spend intentional time with the Lord
  • Walk in gratitude for peace through Christ
  • Live reconciled, not distant

Examining My Heart
Am I enjoying closeness with God—or merely performing duties?

Lord, I come before You recognizing that You are holy and worthy of my whole life.
Just as the burnt offering was fully placed on the altar, I offer myself to You—my heart, my plans, my will. Teach me to surrender completely, holding nothing back.
Help me honor You with the best of what I have, not leftovers or convenience. May my daily work, my service, and my obedience be offered with gratitude and excellence, knowing that all I have comes from You.
Thank You for inviting me into fellowship and peace. You do not call me only to obey You from a distance, but to walk closely with You in restored relationship. I praise You 🙌 for the peace You have given through Jesus, our perfect sacrifice.
Let my life be a pleasing aroma to You—fully surrendered, faithfully offered, and joyfully lived in Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏

Scripture Focus – Acts 13

Acts 13:38–39 (NLT)

“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.”

Reflection
Acts 13 shows Paul proclaiming Jesus as the fulfillment of everything Israel had been waiting for. While Leviticus taught the people how to approach God through sacrifices, Acts declares that Jesus has now completed the work. Forgiveness, righteousness, and peace with God are no longer achieved through repeated offerings—but through faith in Christ alone. What the Law pointed toward, Jesus fulfilled completely.

Lesson for Me
Jesus accomplished what the Law could never do—He made a way for me to be fully forgiven and made right with God.

Application
  • Rest in Christ’s finished work
  • Stop striving to earn what He has already given
  • Boldly share the message of forgiveness through Jesus
Examining My Heart
Am I living in the freedom Jesus secured—or still trying to earn God’s approval?

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for fulfilling what the Law could only point toward. Help me walk in freedom, confidence, and gratitude for the forgiveness You have given me. Amen. 🙏

Journal
Sit quietly with Jesus and ask Him if there are any areas where you are still striving instead of resting in His finished work. Write what He shows you.
