Today’s Reading
Exodus 6–8

Scripture Focus

“I am the LORD… I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, and I have remembered my covenant.”
Exodus 6:2, 5 (NLT)

Reflection

As I read Exodus 6–8, what stood out to me is how gently yet firmly God reveals Himself to His people. Israel already knew about God—but now He wanted them to know Him. Not just as powerful, but as faithful. Personal. Near.

God speaks these promises while they are still hurting. Nothing has changed yet. Pharaoh hasn’t let them go. The work is still heavy. And yet God says, “I have heard you. I remember.” That tells me something important—God doesn’t wait for things to get better before He reassures us of who He is. He meets us right in the middle of the struggle.

I also noticed how easily discouragement can dull our hearing. God speaks clearly, but Israel struggles to believe because their hearts are weighed down by suffering. I can relate to that. There are times when life feels so heavy that it’s hard to hold onto hope, even when God is speaking truth.

Pharaoh’s hardened heart was another reminder for me. He sees God’s power again and again, yet still refuses to surrender. It made me stop and ask myself—where do I resist God? Where do I try to stay in control instead of trusting Him fully?

Through these chapters, I see a God who is patient, steady, and completely faithful. He is not intimidated by resistance or delayed obedience. He keeps moving His plan forward, even when people don’t respond right away.

Knowing God More Deeply
•When God says “I AM the LORD,” He is reminding us that He is unchanging. What He promised before still stands today.
•When Scripture says God “remembered,” it means He is ready to act—not that He ever forgot.
•When hearts become hard, it’s not because God stopped speaking—it’s because surrender stopped happening.

Lesson for Me

God wants me to trust Him even when I’m tired, discouraged, or unsure of what comes next. He is still working, still faithful, and still keeping His promises—even when I can’t see it yet.

Prayer 🙏

Lord, thank You for seeing me, hearing me, and remembering Your promises. Help me not let discouragement or fear harden my heart. Teach me to trust You more deeply and to surrender quickly when You speak. I want to know You—not just believe in You. Amen.

Journaling Reminder
Sit quietly with Jesus. Listen for the Holy Spirit. Write until your thoughts pause. Reread what you wrote. Begin with: “My little lamb…” or “Dear daughter…” and receive what He wants to show you about trusting Him more today.
