Today’s Reading: Isaiah 57–59, Psalm 103, 2 Peter 3

Scripture Focus:

“Whoever trusts in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.” (Isaiah 57:13 NLT)

“I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.” (Isaiah 57:15 NLT)

“This is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned… share your food with the hungry… Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal.” (Isaiah 58:6, 8 NLT)

“It’s your sins that have cut you off from God… But my Spirit will not leave them, and my words will be on their lips forever.” (Isaiah 59:2, 21 NLT)

“He forgives all my sins… crowns me with love and tender mercies… He has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west.” (Psalm 103:3–4, 12 NLT)

Reflection
How fragile are the things we cling to besides God. In Isaiah 57, He reminds us that idols—those hidden loves of the heart—cannot save us. A puff of wind knocks them over. Yet to those who release their grip on substitutes and trust fully in Him, He promises an inheritance on His holy mountain. The “High and Lofty One,” dwelling in eternity, bends low to live with the humble, to restore the crushed, to breathe courage into the weary.
In Isaiah 58, He invites us to step beyond empty motions of religion and into a faith that moves—feeding the hungry, clothing the cold, lifting the heavy yoke from others, honoring Him with our time and our lives. This is worship that shines like the dawn, bringing healing and renewal wherever it flows.
Isaiah 59 doesn’t soften the truth: it is our sins that cut us off from God. But even here, hope rises. He has made a covenant—a promise sealed by His Spirit and His Word—that will remain with us and our children forever.
And then Psalm 103 bursts forth like a song from a grateful heart: He forgives us, heals us, redeems us from death, and crowns us with love. He takes our sins and flings them as far as the east is from the west. What else can we do but lift our whole being in 🙌 praise to such a merciful and faithful God?

Lesson for Me
  • Trust in God alone — idols (anything we put before Him) cannot save or satisfy.
  • True fasting and worship are active — they free, restore, and bring life to others.
  • Sin separates — but God’s Spirit and Word secure us in His covenant of grace.
  • Praise lifts our hearts — gratitude renews our perspective and strengthens our hope.

Application Questions
1. What “idols” (comforts, distractions, self-reliance) might I be trusting instead of fully relying on God?

2. How can I practice the kind of “fasting” God desires—bringing freedom, hope, or help to someone today?

3. Is there sin in my life that I need to humbly bring before Him for forgiveness and restoration?

4. How can I shift my focus today to a heart of 🙌 praise for His unfailing love and mercy?

Prayer 🙏

Father, You are the High and Lofty One, yet You choose to dwell with the humble. Thank You for seeing my brokenness and offering restoration. Teach me to trust You above all else and remove anything I put before You. Help me live out true worship—freeing, helping, and loving others as You have loved me. Forgive me for the sins that distance me from You, and fill me anew with Your Spirit and Your Word. Today I choose to praise You for forgiving, healing, and crowning me with Your mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Now, my sisters, sit quietly before the Lord. Ask Him to search your heart. Listen for His voice as He speaks to you personally about trusting Him, walking in true worship, and living in His covenant love. Journal what He shows you—His correction, His encouragement, and His promises for you today.
