Reflection
Dear sister, my friend,

Reading Joshua 9–11 reminds me of something so important—our battles are real, but so is our victory in God.

In Joshua 9, we see how easy it is to be deceived when we rely on what we see and what makes sense in the natural. The Gibeonites came with evidence that looked convincing, and Israel believed them… because they did not consult the Lord.

How often do we do the same?

We look at situations, we reason through them, we listen to what sounds right… but we don’t stop to ask God.

And that’s where deception finds its way in.

But then in Joshua 10 and 11, everything shifts.

Joshua seeks the Lord… and God responds with power.

“Do not be afraid… I have given you victory.”

We see a God who fights for His people.
A God who gives strategy.
A God who brings victory—not by human strength, but by His power.

The same people who were deceived in one chapter… are walking in victory in the next.

The difference?

👉 They turned back to God.

Joshua prayed, and the Lord answered so powerfully that even the sun stood still. Heaven moved because a man sought God.

And this reminds me of what the New Testament tells us:

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world…”
— Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)

The battle is real, my sister.
The enemy is always working, always trying to deceive, distract, and destroy.

But our God…

He is greater.

And He doesn’t just call us to fight—
He calls us to fight His way.

Not by striving.
Not by logic alone.
Not by what we see.

But by seeking Him, trusting Him, praying, and obeying.

Because when we do…

👉 He fights for us.
👉 He gives us victory.

And no enemy will be able to stand.
Lesson for Me

I see that I cannot rely on what I see or what makes sense in the natural—I must seek the Lord in everything.

If I don’t ask God, I can be deceived.
Even things that look right, sound right, and feel right can lead me in the wrong direction if God is not in it.

I also see that my battles are not mine to fight alone.

God desires to give me victory, but it comes when I do things His way—when I pray, when I trust Him, when I obey, and when I follow His lead.

Victory is not found in striving harder…
it is found in seeking Him first.

Examine My Heart ❤️

Now it’s time to examine my heart…
•Am I making decisions based on what I see and what makes sense, or am I truly seeking the Lord first?
•Have I allowed something into my life because it looked right instead of asking God if it was right?
•In the battles I’m facing, am I striving in my own strength or trusting God to fight for me?
•Is there an area where I need to stop, seek Him, and realign with His will?
•Do I truly believe that God will give me victory when I walk in obedience to Him?

Prayer 🙏

Father,

Thank You for Your Word that teaches me, corrects me, and leads me. Thank You for showing me how easily I can be deceived when I rely on myself instead of seeking You.

Lord, forgive me for the times I have made decisions without consulting You. Help me to slow down, to seek You first, and to trust Your voice above my own understanding.

Remind me that my battles are not mine alone. You are the God who fights for me. Teach me to fight Your way—to pray, to trust, to obey, and to follow wherever You lead.

Strengthen my heart so that I will not be led by what looks right, but by what is right in Your eyes.

I choose today to seek You first in all things.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen 🙏
