💭 Reflection
Have you ever cried out to God and wondered why Heaven seemed silent?
Job did. He cried and heard no reply. Yet his faith kept him speaking to the One who could save him, not to the world that could only pity him. Job’s cry reminds us that even in the silence, prayer is never wasted.
Then we reach Psalm 120, where the psalmist echoes what Job longed to feel — that God hears. The same God who seemed distant to Job was the very one listening all along. Every cry, whispered or wept, reaches Him.
Centuries later, Paul writes to the Galatians about another form of silence — the emptiness of trying to earn God’s favor through performance. Into that void, the Spirit speaks: You are Mine. By faith in Christ, we are not slaves struggling for approval but children resting in belonging.
When the heavens seem quiet, remember: silence is not absence. You are His child, His heir, and your prayers rise before Him as precious incense.
💎 Lesson for Me
Faith holds on even when feelings fade. My identity is not defined by what I hear or feel but by who God says I am — His beloved child through Jesus Christ.
🔍 Application Questions
- When have I felt like Job — praying and hearing nothing?
- What truths from Galatians remind me that I am loved and heard by God?
- How can I respond in faith instead of fear the next time Heaven feels silent?
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You that even when You seem silent, You are near. Help me trust Your timing and rest in the truth that I am Your child through faith in Christ. Let Your peace guard my heart when I don’t understand, and teach me to listen for Your quiet voice in the waiting. Amen.
🕊 Journaling Reminder:
Sit quietly before Jesus today. Ask Him to show you what He’s teaching you through the silence — where He wants to strengthen your faith, and how He wants to remind you of your identity as His child. Write down what He speaks to your heart.
